ABOUT - Lafabricarte
Carolin Schmidt (33), also known as LaFabricarte, is a freelance autodidactive artist from the beautiful city Cologne in Germany. As a kid she already fell in love with abstract structures, especially in black and white. Later on she found her pleasure in using different paint and materials and established her style in this kind of coulourful abstract works. For several years now she creates and publish her stuff under the name Lafabricarte (La fabrica del´arte), that expresses the diversity of art, but also underlines her love for similar compositions of deep colours with clear structures.
Philosophy
Her life is characterised above all by a love of creativity and a particularly positive attitude. The process of inside and outside creation is of enormous importance to experience spiritual growth and to build resilience. It is not about the situations themselves, but the attitude towards them shapes life in a concise way. The subjectively ascribed meaning influences the path of life of every human being. So to define a reality , which appears to be equally valid for everyone, seems to be impossible.
Art
LaFabricarte's art reflects precisely the way of looking at things from different perspectives. Through the colour design and the playful use of different materials, a dynamic is created that is characterised by the simplification of images and memories.
ABOUT THE TECHNIQUE - Abstract Art
For now LaFabricarte is focussing on abstract art and she loves to use different materials and paint. Nearly all her paintings are compositions of several substances and not made just with acrylic or oil paint. But whats abstract art? Strictly speaking, the word abstract means to separate or to withdraw something from something else.
The term can be applied to art that is based an object, figures or a landscape, where forms have been simplified or schematised. But it is also applied to art that uses forms, such as geometric shapes or gestural marks, which have no source at all in an external visual reality.
Thats why abstract art is often seen as carrying a moral dimension, in that it can be seen to stand for virtues such as order, but also as purity, simplicity, fantasy and spirituality. <3
